Its surface area is 11.5 km² and the maximum depth is 75 m. Gudauri Ski Resort is located at an elevation of 2200 meters above the sea level. The natural conditions of Gudauri were the primal prerequisite for establishing a ski resort. The first ski lift was built in 1988. Today, there are 14 ski lifts. The bottom ski lift is 1993 meters MSL, and the upper one is 3276 meters MSL.
